MRC researchers organised the closing conference of the project “Re-thinking Individual Representation: Campaign Personalization and Legislative Behavior”, coordinated between October 2013 and September 2016 in collaboration with the Lucian Blaga University Sibiu. The event brought together academics affiliated with universities and research institutes in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Croatia and Romania. Most of these researchers are leading international experts in voting behavior and representation studies.
The first part of the event focused on presenting and debating the project findings regarding the empirical linkages between the campaign behavior and strategies of politicians and their subsequent parliamentary activities.
The second part started with a presentation of Andre Krouwel, one of the most prominent researchers of Vote Advice Applications, followed by a discussion about the Romanian experience with such applications, including MRC’s TestVot, and a discussion of plans for future cooperation in this research direction.
